Course Description:

This OSHA outreach workshop will provide training to workers and employers on the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in workplaces in general industry. It will also provide information regarding workers’ rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint.

For the year 2013 OSHA completed a total of 39,228 federal inspections. Worker injuries, illnesses and fatalities are on the rise: 4,383 workers were killed on the job in 2012 on average, more than 84 a week or nearly 12 deaths every day. This workshop can help your company not become one of these statistics.

This workshop is intended for entry level workers with some safety responsibility. It will help to ensure that workers are more knowledgeable about workplace hazards and their rights, and improve organizational productivity.

Larry D. Riley is an authorized OSHA instructor through the University of South Florida OTI Program and has been actively involved in workplace safety for over 18 years. He began a career in safety while working with the City of North Lauderdale, Florida when he implemented a safety program for the city's Fleet Maintenance Department. In 2001 Larry joined the Florida Power and Light Company team at the St. Lucie Nuclear Power Plant and was an integral part of their comprehensive health & safety program. While in this capacity Larry was instrumental in helping new outside contractors become familiar with Florida Power & Light's Safety programs by conducting formal pre-bid award safety training and informal in-course safety tailgate training.

Larry's expertise in conducting hazard analysis and proactive safety inspections coupled with his easy to understand training style make him a popular OSHA compliance trainer. He has successfully taught well over 5000 hours of workplace safety and OSHA standards. He has incorporated past examples and experiences in his teaching programs. Showing the students how easy it is to be OSHA compliant. In 2009 and 2010 Larry traveled all over the United States conducting an OSHA Electrical / Arc Flash update course for the Susan Harwood Grant given to The Workplace Safety Awareness Council. The course was received by 2600 employees and over 20,000 employees have received training from the materials distributed from the courses.

Larry has also been invited to speak and teach at many of the International Facilities Managers Association (IFMA) conferences in Las Vegas and Orlando through-out the years. He continues to conduct OSHA 10 and 30 Hour workshops along with CPR/AED and First aid certified training courses for the American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI).

Payment:

Payment is required before 2 days of the date of the conference. We accept American Express, Visa and MasterCard. Make checks payable to MetricStream Inc. ( our parent company)

Cancellations and Substitutions:

Written cancellations through fax or email (from the person who has registered for this conference) received at least 10 calendar days prior to the start date of the event will receive a refund — less a $200 administration fee. No cancellations will be accepted — nor refunds issued — within 10 calendar days from the start date of the event.

On request by email or fax (before the seminar) a credit for the amount paid minus administration fees ($200) will be transferred to any future GRC Seminars event and a credit note will be issued.

Substitutions may be made at any time. No-shows will be charged the full amount.

We discourage onsite registrations, however if you wish to register onsite payment to happen through credit card immediately or check to be submitted onsite.
